Blight in Sheboygan, house.

The interior of neglected home late 2008, prior to City intervention. Sits facing Courthouse on north 5th St.. Property sat in this condition for years, constant violent disturbances, police and fire calls. After six year neighborhood effort, City finally took action by use of new “Nuisance Property Ordinance”, forced absentee property owner to make repairs to the property. This included evicting the violent drunks who lived here, who terrorized neighborhood. The City needs to hold all property owners accountable for the upkeep/condition of their blighted properties. Enforce fair housing standards, enforce building codes, inspect these blighted properties if necessary? How would you like living next to this eyesore? What effect would it have on your family, your peace of mind? Your property values, the neighbors property values? Sheboygan needs to take much stronger action against the absentee owners of such dangerous, blighted properties, to protect all of our neighborhoods and families.

I have recently closed on a home and the backyard is quite big and none of my neighbors have fenced their back yard. Do you think i should fence my back yard? will it add value to my home?

How do you really know the assessed value of a home when home modification are going on ? What if I buy house only to realize that my neighbors are selling is cheaper after modification of principle.

Where do I report my neighbor for their junked cars?

My landlord / Neighbor has 3 junked cars in her back yard which just happens to be our front yard. We have told her to clean up her cars and get rid of them but she refuses to so now we want to report her to the city for having too many non operating vehicles.

She has been reported many times by the neighbors because her house drops their home value. We just can’t utilize our yard space because of her cars.

what kind of fence most improves your home value?

I own 2.5 acers, I want to fence all of it but I am going to do it in sections so for one I can afford it and for two because I have plans for the outer fence buy my neighbors. I am also wanting to tare down the house that is there and build a new one, saying that, will any fence increase your value? can I do a farm / horse fence with post and wire and it still increase the value or will only privacy fence do that? And anyone know surveying cost??

My fiance and I have just bought a single family home in Salt Lake City. On either side of us are two houses much like ours- on the east side the house was just sold (as a single family unit), on the west side, the house has been vacant for some time and falling into disrepair. A few days ago the owner of the property to the west approached us about some work he wanted to do on his place (it needs it!). When he bought the house in 1978, it was split into a duplex but was never zoned as such. Now that he wants to fix it up, he needs the adjoining neighbors to sign off saying it is ok to rezone the property into a multi-family rental dwelling. My question is will this rezoning effect the value of our house, and if so how? Any thoughts or input you might have would be greatly appreciated.
